What is your question?
I am looking into buying a Chevy Volt 2017 and I saw on the carfax that the battery was replaced in 11/2018. That is only one year after the car came out. The warranty and expected battery life is around 8 years. Should I forget about buying this car? What could that have been caused by? Much appreciated!

Hello, which battery was replaced? CARFAX is probably speaking about the 12 volt battery under the hood, not the hybrid battery. A 12 volt battery can fail for a multitude of reasons, or just be replaced because someone left the lights on and depleted it. CARFAX does have some valuable data, but is extremely general in work description. And, it is not entirely complete -- not all shops report to CARFAX.
