Processors are rarely the cause of any problems. It's a guess people try when they have no idea. The only times I see processors as a problem is when there's verified signs of wiring issues and melting of a connector, or perhaps water intrusion. Sure, anything is possible, and during rare circumstances a failure is possible, but it's highly unlikely. Replacing your ECM can actually make problems more difficult to figure out. A diagnostic computer that has software capable of monitoring component function is needed. You can look at transmission engagement, gears selected, the shift lever position -- all electronically. This seems like a necessary next step to finding out the source of your trouble.
