housing is cracked at starter how can i fix it

Hello, I've been here a few times. Trailer the truck if needed, or drive it if you can, haul it to a welder, disconnect the batteries (all of them), and let them put it together while still on the truck. If the crack runs into the engine block, instead of removing the transmission, just back the transmission bellhousing-to-engine bolts about an inch, and remove the bolts for the transmission mount, then slide it back a little with a pry bar.
