What is your question?
I have had my truck for a while now (5 years) and have been very pleased with it. but today it did something very sudden and strange. I took off from a light in 2nd gear (1st is a granny low and is not used much) when I went to shift to 3rd it wouldn't go into gear. I pulled to the side of the road and even at a dead stop it wouldn't shift out of neutral into ANY gear. When I did get into gear none of the shifts on the way home felt proper. If there were an adjustment problem I would figure it would have progressed not happened suddenly. It was shifting fine when I left this morning. What could the problem be and what would the possible cost be to fix.

I would do this check, with the engine off, try to shift the tranny, if it shifts, then the tranny is ok. If not it is a gear box issue. Then start the engine and try to shift, if it is hard, then it is a clutch issue. You may have a wearing clutch hydraulic cylinder, either the master or slave or both, I have seen that cause a sudden hard shifting problem. Check your clutch fluid level. Hope that this helps!
ck fuzes before replacing trans it is automatic wright
ok I will check the fluid level. had a friend say it may be the throw out bearing (hopefully it is just fluid level easier and cheaper to fix) it just seems odd that it would be so sudden thanks for your time I checked the clutch fluid level and it is fine. does this mean that I will have to bring it to a shop now (with 4wd I will not deal with the transfer case in a driveway) and what else could it be? I am pretty sure the clutch is grabbing as I have gunned the engine up hill with no slipping.
