What is your question?
Just found out that water is pumping into #5 cylinder. All 8 injectors were replaced 50,000 miles ago in 2004. Water pump was replaced 3 weeks ago. What is causing water to be pumped into cylinders? Estimate is $5,000 to repair.

Water in a cylinder is normally from a cracked head or a leaking headgasket. What is the estimate for?
Engine has not overheated ever. They will have to remove the engine to get to the head. Of course the warranty has run out. Talked to first level GMAC rep who is now passing it on to the next higher level. This shouldn't be happening at only 74,000 miles.
Sorry to hear about your truck. I've always heard the Duramax engines were solid diesels. It's good to hear they're trying to help you out, hopefully there will be some goodwill. Head gaskets are a huge job for the diesels. Let us know how it turns out
