Is it normal for the truck to rev up to 1000 rpms and slowly go back down on park?

Hello, yes on cold start your engine will have a higher engine speed it first and finally settle down to a "normal" range of probably 750 to 800 RPM. It does not sound like anything abnormal is happening here.
