What is your question?
We own a Red Chevrolet Silverado 1500 4WD and have recently replaced the thermostat and coolant temperature sensor. However, the reason we replaced this was that the cooling fan kept running even after the car was turned off. A loud whirring noise can be heard from the vehicle, and it keeps going. After replacing everything, the whirring sound continued, but it went on for about 5 minutes before it shut off. Do you know if this is normal? We even put in more coolant and everything, but it keeps going. Is this normal, or must we get the fan checked out?
How long has your 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 had this problem?
A few days

Hello, Dave here, contributing to RepairPal and providing expert advice since 2010. The cooling fan may indeed run after the vehicle is shut off. There is no reason to be concerned -- unless it runs so long that the battery fails. But it sounds like that's not happening.
