After warmup, lifter clicking

What is your question?

After it reaches operating temp, the lifter wants to start clicking. But after I shut off the truck for 2 min. It stops and doesn’t do it again for the rest of the drive. What could be the problem?

What makes this problem better or worse?

It’s better/stops after engine is shut off for 2 min
