Hi, this is Bo, an auto expert on RepairPal's Car Genius team! The vent control valve on your 2002 Silverado 1500 is part of the EVAP system, which helps control fuel vapors. You'll typically find it near the charcoal canister, mounted close to the fuel tank. Look under the truck, just ahead of the rear axle on the driver's side. If you're seeing different locations in videos, it might be because of slight variations in model years or setups. Once you locate the charcoal canister, the vent control valve should be nearby, often attached to it with a couple of hoses leading to it. There can also be one under the hood. There is often a vent control valve near the canister and one that releases the fumes to be used in the combustion process in the engine bay.
