Steering is not locked and it's in park
1 Reply
Hello, Dave here, contributing to RepairPal and providing expert advice since 2010. It is concerning that your steering is not locked. This means that some thing has prevented the locking of the steering wheel - which is also likely what is preventing the ignition from turning. Check the transmission shift lever position sensor. Check the shift lever to ensure it is fully in the park position. The related circuit influences the ignition key cylinder and the steering lock. Hands on testing is needed.
