how do i get the security light to turn off

first of all, you need to find out why the light came on. it comes on when there is a malfunction in the system. to re set your try to start and then release to the on position and let it sit for 10 minutes. repeat after the light goes out. do this a toal of 3 times. the bcm will learn the new password and it should start. all this is useless until you find out why the light came on. you need a scan tool to get this reason.
