Is there any way to adjust this problem out or is it an internal problem?

Hi, my name is Devin. I am an auto repair expert with the Car Genius team here at RepairPal. I’m sorry to hear you're having trouble with your vehicle. If your Silverado has a hesitation when shifting into reverse, it could be related to the transmission fluid or internal components. Since the truck has been sitting for a year, the fluid might have degraded or become contaminated. Start by checking the transmission fluid level and condition; if it's low or dirty, a fluid and filter change might help. If the problem persists after a fluid change, it might indicate an internal issue, such as a fluid pressure or valve body problem, which would require professional attention. If you need more advice, have any other questions about your vehicle, or would like to get connected to a RepairPal Certified shop near you, we have you covered.
