getting ticking sound from engine area,after driving home from work this morning

this could be a/c regulator assembly it wears down cause that belt runs when ur motor is running makes no difference if a/c is on or off. sounds like a lifter or a valve no worries not mechanical 64.00 no labor I was back on the road.
