What is your question?
For about 6 months when turning the steering wheel in either direction when driving it makes a loud mouning grinding sound. I have been told I need a gear box, and power steering flush. I done the flush and it's been oiled but the noise is still there. Please help, I have 5 kids, not working, and single. Thank you

It was a good suggestion to flush the power steering system, it could be a power steering pump or steering box problem but as you know either would be expensive to replace. There is a company called Lubegaurd make a steering oil additive that is pretty good, I hear Lucas oil products make an additive that's pretty good worth a try.
I have a 2003 Silverado 1500HD with 140k miles and it has had this clunking noise from day 1. Took it to the dealership when still under warranty and they told me 'there are burrs on the crossmember causing the problem and we can't do anything about it'. Idiots. However, it has never caused a problem. The noise occurs mostly when I cut sharply at low speeds such as backing out of my driveway or a parking space.
Thank you, It has been confirmed that it is the power steering gear box, but that I can still drive it until it goes all the way out. It's an expensive part, so I guess I wait if I'm not putting my family in danger by it. Thanks for the reply.
Patrick, Thank you for the advice. I will try that before going the more expensive route.
