No trouble indicated prior to taking my 2001 Silverado in for inspection.
What is your question?
The MIL Cmmd indicates "Nothing". Inspector stated that it was not making connection. Is this a fuze problem or what? Also it did not give an error code and the truck was running find before and after the inspection. There was no "check engine light on or anything to give me pause.

Hello, there is a fuse for the data link connection that will indeed prevent communication with the engine's processor if it is blown. Check your fuse panel first. An owners manual is helpful to find the proper fuse. It is noted as fuse #47 "CIGAR" in the manual. This in the underwood fuse box. It's a 15 amp fuse.
