Started year ago. Off and on. 6 months ago oil pressure needle went all the way to right side.hasnt changed. Done oil changes stays the same. Ticking noise comes in goes. For the last 2 weeks it's getting to be more. Like every day.. don't have any leaks. At times truck smells burnt oil and or like it had overheated but never had overheated.
What makes this problem better or worse?
It gets real loud if I'm waiting at a light but even time when first started
How long has your 2007 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Classic had this problem?

Hello, the concern here is - where is the ticking noise, when present, originating from? Engine valve train? Fuel injectors ticking? Base engine ticking? Rod bearing or main bearing ticking? Something else? The first thing to do would be to troubleshoot the location the ticking is coming from, when it's occurring. Having reliable information is also important. So, I recommend you address and repair your oil pressure gauge concern. If your oil pressure is not adequate or is a problem for the engine, this is something you need to know. If the gauge and sending unit are in question, but the oil pressure is actually good, then you can address that accordingly as well. Eliminating variables is important in a diagnostic process.
