4 wheel drive transfer case

make sure its in neutral. but i have the same problem. we have narrowed it down to bein the transfer case motor. it cost a lot. around $140-$150. and those are the cheapest ones i found that were new

It could be the Encoder motor also. If the lights are flashing on the 4WD button then that may be your problem.
