engine coolant temperature switch

Thanks for the information.. no fans do not come on when I turn a/c on. But when I gently press down on the fan relay, the fans rotate until I take finger off..,,,

That is what is known in the business as "a clue". Check for any loose wire connectors in the relay socket. If all seems tight and in good order try replacing the relay.
