If the ABS light is on the computer in your car senses a problem in the Anti-Lock Brake system. The good news is the brakes revert back to standard braking without the anti-locking safety feature. The system needs to be checked out to see what has failed, check the brake fluid level in the reservoir but hopefully it will be as simple as a failed wheel speed sensor.
