The knobs that control the heating and cooling will not turn on

What is your question?

When I get into the car to turn on the air or the Heat if I turn it on the knobs are not working so I can't turn the heater off so I don't have any lights or it must be a short it tell me what can I do to turn off the heater do I take the fuse out
