My friend's minivan has a problem whereby it will stall when you come to a stop only after it warms up. Runs fine when cold. You can restart the minivan, but have to pop it into gear at a higher rev (auto trans), otherwise it'll just stall again. If you allow it to cool down for an hour, it'll drive fine until it warms up again.

I had this problem and it was caused by a solenoid inside transmission. Cost about $150 to get it fixed at local independent repair shop.
check the fuel injectors they should be spraying if they are dripping that is your problem.
could be one of two common problems ,the engine is getting a "false" air signal meaning air is bypassing the mass airflow sensor (large vacuum leak) once the car go's into "closed loop" when it reaches temp the mass airflow mis reads the incoming intake air requirments and it runs lean and stalls , the computer uses a "pre valued set of readings it uses during "open loop" the cold ,warm up cycle when the car is first started and runs cold untill it reaches this point and also a faulty converter lock up sensor or a faulty lock up torque converter inself can cause this problem
Mine does this too! What the heck is causing this mysterious problem? It is bugging the snot out of me! I have had hoses, thermostat, heater core, heat sensors put in but it still starts over heating when running a little especially in Summer Months! then stalls at stops, Cant hardly get it back home here lately! Thanks for any help!
I'll give it a shot! Thanks so much if it works!!!!
