Sounds like a bad IAC (Idle Air Control) motor. It is on the side of the TBI housing.

Will give this a try and let u know if it works Thanks for info 09/15/10 . installed new IAC. Still have same problem.

I have had same problem with my 90 apv cargo van. Intermittent, dont happen every time, especially when I take it to dealer for service.
