Hi, my name is Devin. I am an auto repair expert with the Car Genius team here at RepairPal. I’m sorry to hear you're having trouble with your vehicle. If your K1500 is currently equipped with a 65 inch driveshaft, and you aren't changing any other components, it is likely that a replacement 65 inch driveshaft will be needed. It's possible that the truck has been modified or that parts from a different model year or configuration were installed. Variations in components such as the transfer case, rear axle, or leaf springs can affect the required driveshaft length. To resolve this, you might want to measure the distance between the transmission output and the rear differential yoke to confirm the correct driveshaft length needed for your specific setup. Consulting with a trusted repair shop can help ensure you get the right fit for your vehicle.
