Hi, this is Bo, an auto expert on RepairPal's Car Genius team! If you've converted your Silverado to a rear-wheel-drive setup by removing the front differential, you no longer need the front CV axles. The CV axles are part of the front-wheel-drive system and are connected to the front differential, transferring power to the front wheels in a 4WD configuration. Since you're now running solely on rear-wheel drive, the front CV axles serve no functional purpose. However, it's a good idea to properly cap or seal the openings where the CV axles were removed to prevent any debris from entering and to maintain the integrity of your vehicle's undercarriage. This conversion should not cause any issues if the remaining components, such as the rear differential and driveshaft, are in good condition and properly maintained.
