Hello, that warning light is not only for the emergency brake -- if it's red and says "brake". It is also an indicator of a problem with the mechanical hydraulic braking system. This system when there's a failure occurring, such as loss of brake fluid pressure, a brake fluid leak or some other kind of failure will illuminate the red brake light. Red means - bad! It means it's unsafe to drive the vehicle. Have an inspection of your braking system performed as soon as possible, and don't drive further until you do.
Alternatively, your parking brake system could be showing a problem as well, but this is less likely.
