Why is my front left axle shaft pulling out of the differential?

2007 Chevy Express 1500 AWD, Left front inner axle shaft pulled out partially while driving destroying the splines. replaced it and the new one is doin the same. Why does these axle shafts pull themselves out and then ruin the splines? what can I do to stop them from pulling out?
