WHEN THE HEADLIGHTS ARE ON, THE PASSENGER SIDE BRAKE LIGHT WILL NOT COME ON, BUT WHEN THE HEADLIGHTS ARE OFF, THE BRAKE LIGHT WILL COME ON. THIS IS ONLY ON THE PASSENGER SIDE. WHAT COULD BE MY PROBLEM?

Had the same problem. There is a short in the wiring harness. Chevy in their infinite wisdom welded the ground plate to the wire through the plastic housing. Both sides of my van failed. There are three wires coming into it, two hots for the two intensities of the bulbs and the ground. I ended cutting the wires, slicing open in the housing, and then re soldered everything.
