This sounds more like a concern with a hydraulic control unit for the anti-lock braking system than anything else. I would not suspect a master cylinder as the culprit for this concern.Testing most certainly must be performed, and I would recommend employing the use of a diagnostic tool capable of testing the chassis components involved with the brake system.
