Is it necessary to remove the transfer case to R&R the clutch slave cylinder?

I don't know which transmisson is in the truck. It is a cast iron case 5 speed tranmisson. It is an "R" code truck, which you probaly know is a heavy duty model of the 3/4 ton.

The slave cylinder that is mounted inside the bell housing requires transmmision removal. On that model when look at the bell housing on the drivers side. That bell housing has 2 holes in it 1 for the bleeder valve on the slave and the other is for the hydralic line going to it. Should be able see it easy.
