Replaced u joints the front yoke and the spline both have master keys so only go on the one way but the rear yoke is off by 3/8 a inch or so

Hello, I’m Pete from the Car Genius team at RepairPal. I’m sorry you’re dealing with this concern on your Chevrolet C1500. Based on the information provided it sounds like you are unable to line up the rear u-joint with the yoke properly and that it is of by 3/8 of an inch or so. In most cases you can usually safely jack up and support the rear differential making sure the rear tires are off the ground and blocking the front wheels from rolling to prevent vehicle movement and then turn the differential yoke that 3/8 of an inch to get it to line up properly. If this does not work or if the U-joint itself is not fitting I recommend checking to make sure the correct U-joints were installed as incorrect U-joints can cause this concern. Make sure to check and perform this in safe manner making sure the vehicle is supported safely and the front wheels are blocked to prevent vehicle movement.
