The low side,or return pipe is the larger tubeing or hose that comes from the inside of the interior or evaporator,some units have the expansion valve mounted on the firewall,the tubing and or hose runs to one side of the compressor. The high side runs directly to the front to the condenser, that mounts in front of the radiator, or to one side with a seperate fan.Then runs from the condenser to the reciever dryer,then to the expansion valve before intering the evavorator coil.Inside the vehicle.When the system is opperating the lowside will most always be cold and dripping wet with condensation,while the high side will be hot to the touch.
