What is your question?
At start the engine knocks and an extreme white smoke comes out the exhaust. It will stay running and move (although seems unsafe) continues a constant loud knocking and white smoke from exhuast. Can this be fixed or does the engine need replacement? How and which be more cost efficent?

sounds like you have a head gasket leaking severely it will be cheaper to replace gasket but if heads are warped (machine shop will have to tell) then you may get out cheap buying a reman engine.
I have looked and still looking for a reman engine but cannot or do not know where to start? Do you have or know where I might be able to obtain a reman engine?
best place i can think of will be like Jasper.com or b&m and they carry a 3 year warranty if i remember correct.
