my truck acts like it is in neutral no problems before.

my wife was driving and she said all of the sudden the truck acted as though it was in neutral. I got home and started it and it drove forward and back and then it quit again. the next day was the same thing but if in shut it off and restart it right away it still acts as though it is in neutral.
