Can I fix the problem

The only thing you can really do is check and make sure your gas cap is tight. If it isn't , I would tighten it and drive for a couple of days to see if the light resets itself. Other then that you need a scan tool and qualified technician to properly diagnose and repair the light. If the light is blinking I would get it looked at right away, that means you have a condition that is currently happening the can potentially damage the catalytic convertor.
