What is your question?
I brought a used active suspension module to replace in my 2014 Cadillac XTS 3.6L Front Wheel Drive but the dealership doesn't know if it can be reprogrammed. General Motors won't give a straight answer on the question and I have to make the decision to allow them to try it and spend up to $500 without knowing if it will work. Please tell me, can a used active suspension control module be reprogrammed? The part does still have the old code from the previous vehicle in it but can it be overrode? Please Please advise as soon as possible! Thank you!
What makes this problem better or worse?
The car will not raise on it's own. The compressor has been changed twice as well as the airbags and the shocks so it's definitely the module.
How long has your 2014 Cadillac XTS had this problem?
A month

Hi, my name is Devin. I am an auto repair expert with the Car Genius team here at RepairPal. I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble with your vehicle. Reprogramming a used active suspension module can be tricky. GM often designs these modules to be programmed only once, meaning that if the module has been previously programmed to another vehicle, it may not be able to be reprogrammed to your XTS. Since the dealership isn't confident, it's worth seeking out a shop with specialized GM module programming experience before committing to the cost. If you need more advice, have any other questions about your vehicle, or would like to get connected to a RepairPal Certified shop near you, we have you covered.
