Is it possible for the radio in 2015 Cadillac SRX to cause the Cue to freeze up?

None of buttons on cue screen will work. Was told after Cadillac ‘analyzed’ it, said radio was malfunctioning. New radio estimated at over $1100. Plus labor. Radio worked all way home. Its the buttons on screen that wont activate.
