Hi, I'm one of the auto experts on RepairPal's Car Genius team! Great question. Some cars come equipped with what is called an inertia switch that cuts off power to your fuel supply after a collision. However, your 2012 Cadillac SRX does not come with a mechanical inertia switch like some older cars. You will likely need a scan tool to clear codes from the airbag control module. That being said, it is worth having it checked out by a reputable shop to make sure that there is no damage that would make it unsafe to start and then they can perform necessary resets to get it up and going again.
