What is your question?
My brakes locked up, smoking, had to stand on pedal to stop it. Brake pads, rotors, calipers all replaced. Still have no brake pedal. Back lights won't go off and can't start car because pedal doesn't engage. How do I adjust brake pedal, please? Thank you for your consideration, Arnita W.

Hi, this is Bo, an auto expert on RepairPal's Car Genius team! It sounds like your Allante is having a bit of a brake breakdown. If your brake lights won't turn off and the pedal isn't engaging, the brake light switch might be misaligned or faulty. This switch is usually located near the top of the brake pedal arm. Adjusting it might solve the brake light issue and help with starting the car, as the switch also signals the ignition system. As for the brake pedal itself, if it's still not engaging properly after replacing the pads, rotors, and calipers, you might have air in the brake lines. Bleeding the brakes could help restore pedal feel. It's like your car's version of a deep breath—sometimes it just needs to let out a little air. If these steps don't help, it might be time for a professional to take a look.
