After oil change car making Knocking noise what could be reason?

Got an oil change drove everything normal and quite. Next morning start car now it's making a sort of Knocking sound. Bring car back to shop that did oil change they said possible enough oil wasn't put in. So they drained all of oil and put more in it the noise still there so they took belts off and the noise stopped.

What makes this problem better or worse?
