What is your question?
my bmw has started to sputter when idling at red lights. it almost feels as if it is going to stall out. just curious about the common issues associated with this. there are no alerts on my dash via the lcd bmw systems check nor any warning icons on my dash.
How long has your 2011 BMW 335i xDrive had this problem?

Hello, Dave here, contributing to RepairPal and providing expert advice since 2010. The most common causes of poor running or sputtering at red lights while at idle is an incorrect mixture of fuel, air and ignition spark. When there is too much fuel, the engine can starve for air. When there is not enough fuel and too much air, the engine can starve for the fuel. In both cases, the engine will not run properly. I would guess at idle and stop, there could be an air leak to the engine somewhere which is making it hard to have enough fuel -- when you aren't stepping on then accelerator -- to run properly. Since you are not seeing any warning lights on or alerts, another possible cause is poor quality or incorrect grade of fuel being used. Make sure you are using the "premium" fuel this vehicle needs, and I would suggest filling up at a high quality name brand fuel station in your area.
