on your BMW you have a "check control" panel a.k.a. "On Board Computer" (OBC)located under the heating and air conditioning panel. In the display it probably has an error message...i.e. 'Low Coolant' or 'check brake lights' or 'low washer fluid' etc... If you push the 'CHECK' button on the panel the yellow "CHECK CONTROL" Warning indicator on the instrument panel should disappear. I hope this helps.
