What is your question?
My battery was discharging for a while, then the drivetrain function turned on and every time I tried starting my car it wouldn’t start, same if I was just trying to turn on the power to access my dashboard

Hi, my name is Devin. I am an auto repair expert with the Car Genius team here at RepairPal. So sorry to hear you're having trouble with your car. A discharging or weak battery can trigger a drivetrain malfunction warning in your 230i. Modern vehicles like yours rely heavily on electronics, and if the battery voltage drops too low, it can cause various systems, including the drivetrain control module, to malfunction. When the battery is weak, it may not provide enough power to all the vehicle's sensors and modules, leading to error codes and preventing the car from starting or powering up correctly. In this case, replacing or fully charging the battery is an excellent first step. Once you have a stable power source, you might need to reset the system or clear any stored fault codes to see if the drivetrain malfunction warning persists. If you need more advice, have any other questions about your vehicle, or would like to get connected to a RepairPal Certified shop near you, we have you covered.
