What is your question?
Putting it in park then back in drive can "fix" this and get you're car out of limp home mode but it's sad that you have to put your car in park on a freeway and hope it doesn't happen again on your way home. Stay in the left lane and keep hazards on obviously. Why would they have an option to make your car become uncontrollable while driving only stopping once you put it in park. I'm on the freeway I can't always do that especially in a turbo charged sedan 🤦🏾♂️
How long has your 2016 Audi A6 Quattro had this problem?
A year

Hi, my name is Devin. I am an auto repair expert with the Car Genius team here at RepairPal. I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble with your A6. The EPC (Electronic Power Control) light turning on and off, along with your car shaking, indicates that the vehicvehicle'suter has detected a fault in the engine or transmission system. This can be caused by various issues, including problems with the throttle body, ignition system, or even issues related to the turbocharger. Putting the car in park and then back in drive temporarily resolves the issue, suggesting that the system may be going into limp mode, which is a protective measure to prevent further damage. It's definitely concerning that this happens while driving on the freeway. The EPC system should not compromise your control of the vehicle, so it's essential to have this checked out by a qualified mechanic. They can run a diagnostic scan to retrieve error codes and pinpoint the root cause of the problem, ensuring that your vehicle operates safely. If you need more advice, have any other questions about your vehicle, or would like to get connected to a RepairPal Certified shop near you, we have you covered.
