What is your question?
The fault code says 4th gear incorrect gear ratio. Is this a TCM problem and if so, where is the TCM located as i have a replacement one that i recently purchased on Ebay thinking this might be the problem. When i drive the car. I have to start out in triptronic to get the car moving in 1st gear, then shift over to automatic. It then slips past 2nd into 3rd and slips again into 4th then revs slipping into 5th and then I"m okay to drive on. Periodically it will get stuck in 4th until I shut down the motor and restart it. Thank you in advance for your help
What makes this problem better or worse?
It"s pretty much the same all the time, however it runs fine once I get up to speed on the highway
How long has your 2001 Audi A4 Quattro had this problem?
A few weeks

Hello, this is very unlikely to be caused by a processor of any kind and far more likely to be caused by the internal mechanical components of the transmission not doing what is expected due to a probably internal concern. Hands on testing using diagnostic equipment that can monitor commanded and realized shifts of the transmission is essential to determining the source of the problem. You could actually make things worse by swapping out any components without testing.
