TROUBLE CODE P0501

You replaced an ABS speed sensor which is not the vehicle speed sensor. it does drive the speedometer, the speed sensor you need to deal with is on the left side of the transmission. It is an output sensor that the engine computer uses to verify vehicle speed, drive the speedometer, the ABS computer uses the individual wheel speed sensors for the ABS system and then compares those reading to the vehicle speed sensor, which is why you may have an ABS light on, but again, this sensor is not really part of the of ABS system, or you would not have a P0501, the "P" stands for PowerTrain code.
