The place I took the car changed the water pump and told me that the timing belt was fine and now it is broken. I thought they had bought the kit and were going to fix all belts. Now its costing me more money.
I had the water pump fixed 4 months ago and it says on the bill that they checked timing belt and they even told me when i picked the car up that the belt was fine
Owner: I don't know if anyone has advised you; Your Acura v-6 engine is an " interference" design, therefore, there is a great possibility that more than the timing belt will have to be replaced. The repair may involve removing the cylinder heads and replacing bent valves, the cost of which may exceed the value of your vehicle. Our shop would never replace a water pump without replacing the timing belt, and in most cases, the tensioner & idlers. Your shop may not have done that because you may not have wanted to spend that amount for the repair.
