low acceleration

i just bought a 2001 Acura CL-Type S with 78K. runs and sounds great, starts with no problem, idles at around 500rpm.... a person that has never driven the car before would probably not notice anything. i remembered driving my friends 2001 CL Type-S, i could tell the difference.. slow acceleration, it almost feels like my 1st gear is 2nd gear... has anyone had this problem? i need help!!! I've replaced the air fiter and spark plugs but no difference...
