What is your question?
Car over heating while driving. Smoke coming from area of water pump. Coolant reservoir bubbling and kicks out all coolant. Under car just coolant on ground not mixture of oil/coolant. No white smoke coming from exhaust. Hear a whining noise when lift hood coming from same area as the smoke. Could this be water pump? Also before started overheating in drive would overheat while idling or when ac was on. Replaced radiator, coolant fan, the sensor and thermometer. Ac is colder then before now but now is overheating. When it over heats it just goes a little over half and you hear the bubbling like it’s boiling. No knocking noise or oil leaks. So doesn’t sound like a cracked block, hoping. Anyone have any ideas. Have to wait two days before can get ahold of mechanic. It’s the weekend.
What makes this problem better or worse?
Ac or in drive. Started with just ac and idling
How long has your 2006 Chrysler PT Cruiser had this problem?

Hello, there are too many possibilities to guess at. If the water pump is leaking -- then it needs to be replaced. But is it truly leaking? Is there instead maybe a hose in that area leaking? Your cooling system could even have an air pocket in it, causing the bubbling sounds and boiling over concern. Yes, you could have far more severe concerns, but it's really difficult to say until you have the cooling system pressure tested for leaks, any leaks resolved, and then the air purged from the cooling system. After all that is verified complete, then further testing can occur and monitoring of engine temperature during running can be done.
Did you ever find out what it was? I'm having the exact same issue with mine.
