Our oil leaks at the filter and adapter area that's attached to the engine. It has leaked since we have bought it at 90,000 miles and still leaks at 135000. What can I do?
I see a lot of oil on my drive way it came from my dodge caravan under the oil filter I took to the Macanic he confirm
Small leak from oil filter. Thinking a new oil change would fix the problem but after three seasons still the same leak.
At oil change was noted heavy oil pan leaks and filter housing leaks
Also fan motor on ac/heater making noise and now no longer works. Need Estimate of repairs and is it worth paying to fix?
Noticed the oil filter and oil pan were saturated in oil and just assumed it was the oil filter itself. After changing the filter at the next oil change i noticed the leak didn't subside. Now with 88,000 miles the leak has progressively gotten worse. I hadn't addressed the problem because it wasn't causing a noticeable loss of oil but now the oil pan and filter are soo saturated in oil that its occasionally dripping and it's time to fix the problem before it gets any worse. With how many people reported this same problem I believe the oil filter adapter should be recalled.
Noticed dripping oil during a road trip. Lifted hood and oil all over the engine. Lost 4qts. No low oil light on instrument panel. Looked like spray pattern coming from oil cap. Removed cap and rubber ring. Ring had tear in it. Replaced ring and leak stopped. Took to dealer to verify and they put dye in oil and found no leaks and also cleaned engine. Several months later the exact same thing happened AGAIN. Lost most of the oil and no warning light. Oil all over and same spray pattern as first time. This just happened today so will take to dealer again.
I also have a bad oil leak on my 08 grand caravan se above oil filter housing and oil pan gasket leaks too 217,510 miles on eng
We had an oil leak from the "oil pan" and service charged over $200 to fix the leak. Went home sat over night and was fine for the night. Then noticed drips again. took it in and they said just residue left over. Next few days couple of small drips. about two weeks past and started noticing several spots. Took it in and service said it was the oil filter and they replaced and did an oil change. Two days later still dripping oil. Service says not dripping when brought it in and could not find the problem. Going to take it in one more time and see what they say but is certainly coming from the area by the filter as it has been since they replaced the oil pan gasket. Tired of taking in again and again for the same issue. Techs need to be honest.
oil leaking from damaged oil ring. Did Dodge recall the Grand Caravan for replacement of the mounting adaptor plate?

thank you
Changed oil. Drove vehicle. Lost 2 or 3 liters of oil in 15 minutes. No oil warning light, but was alerted by the smell. Discovered leak was coming from around oil filter O-Ring, which I had just changed. Over tightening of Oil Filter outer body is what I suspect. Service Manual suggests 18 ft.lbs but perhaps it should be tightened to seat the gasket O-Ring then backed-off slightly. This is a serious case of an under-engineered mechanism, which can lead to a drastic engine failure!!!!
