Oil leaking from split block seal Dealers should have to correct this problem the caddy manufacturer is aware of many.
Just brought this to my mechanic to check out after purchase. He found oil leak and said he wouldnt touch it and to just add oil as needed. Said he would have advised me never to purchase . Oh, well:(
Oil leak under motor. Checked everything myself and found the line running into the oil filter holder was leaking tightened leak there stoped but cant locate other leak
Seeping oil from lower engine seal. Fix is to spend $3000 pulling the engine and replacing a $10 part or putting a $5 dollar quart of oil every so often.
Seems to leak from the oil pan gasket. Cost to replace is prohibitive it seems GM are incapable of producing a vehicle that can be repaired without major surgery. Shame on them. Cured by placing drip pan under vehicle and topping up oil regularly. Embarassing when visiting friends and relatives. It is supposed to be a Cadillac.
Went to Valvoline and they said had oil pan gasket leak. It's gone from bad to worse. I can't find anyone who wants to touch it to fix it. I just add oil as needed. Recently, 120,000 miles, it's really bad and now it's smoking out the exhaust when accelerated is hit hard to move faster and it has a constant burnt oil smell.
they tend to have an oil leak when using natural water due to the minerals in it use de natured water and it shouldnt eat the seals up
leak is from the oil pan. i am a pro mechanic. These engines suck. I hate to say it,but this doesn't happen w/foregin cars
On 5/23/14, I purchased from its owner, a 2001 Cadillac Eldorado ESC. I am having problems with the trunk. The trunk will not open with either the keyless remote or the button inside the car. When it was opening with these two methods a day or two ago, it would not always close. I can open the trunk with the key but I have a hard time getting it to close/latch completely. I tried 5 times yesterday to get the trunk to latch shut. I now have a car whose trunk I am afraid to use.
